We've had a great school year so far. The Read-a-thon was a success, and we had a blast at the Drive-In. Thank you to Meagan Jones and Brittany Batrez for heading up both fantastic events. We also want to thank everyone who donated or participated in these events, and we're excited about what the rest of the school year holds!
π€ PTA Needs Your Help!
We are in need of help in several areas for this year and next. Please read these descriptions, and if you think your talents can be of use to the PTA, please reach out to us at connect@faampta.org.
- Treasurer: We have a treasurer for this year, but we are looking for someone to train this year to take over next year. Treasurerβs serve two-year terms, so this will be a person with a child in third grade or younger. You do not have to have prior experience keeping books, though that will help. The treasurer attends monthly executive board meetings, though the person who takes the position will not have to start attending them until next school year.
- Hospitality chair: If you are good at decorating, hosting events, setting tables, and have a passion for making people (especially teachers) feel special, then we need your help in hospitality! Hospitality chairs do not have to attend monthly board meetings, and their main job is to give gifts to staff on their birthdays (specialists, office staff, custodians, lunchroom staffβthe people who work at FAAM but who do not have room moms to celebrate their birthdays). The PTA pays for all gifts. Then the hospitality chair is over Teacher Appreciation week, where they collect donations for a teacher raffle and plan out a teacher breakfast and luncheon that week, as well as coordinating other treats throughout the week.
- Reflections coordinator: We need a Reflections coordinator for next year. This person will handle the advertisement of the event (with the help of the PTA), and then will collect submissions for judging, and will report to families who won.
π Yearbooks
Preorders are now open! Go to www.yearbookordercenter.com and enter the school code 785. When you put in your student's name, click "Add Student"--none of the student names are preloaded. They will be $25 until December 19th. After that date, the price goes up, so go ahead and preorder now!
π° Fundraising Updates
- The third quarter VIP auction will be from December 9th-11th
- Popcorn and popsicles for the second semester will open before school gets out for Christmas, and it will stay open until January 9th. Remember it was not an option to purchase for the full year, so if you would like your child to get popcorn and popsicles in the spring semester, you have to purchase it when it opens.

βπ₯ The Wildcat Den
Each morning, our 5th graders, along with some help from FAAM teachers, make the morning announcements. These announcements are actually really helpful for parents to listen to as well. They post the video every day on their Facebook page. Give the page a follow, and watch each day to stay updated on what's happening at FAAM!
